What is College Connection?

College Connection is a unique partnership between Butte College and participating school districts. It’s your chance to experience college before officially become a freshman. Here's what it's all about:

• • High School at College: Attend both high school and college classes at Butte College's main campus.
  • Fresh Learning Environment: Say goodbye to high school drama, and hello to a brand-new way of learning.
  • Explore New Subjects: Try out classes your high school doesn’t offer.
  • Free College Credits: Earn college credit without tuition fees. Yes, you read that right!
  • Access to Everything: Dive into student services, exciting programs, and cool clubs, and score book vouchers.
  • Priority Enrollment: Secure your spot in 9-11 units each fall and spring (with winter/summer options).

Why should I join College Connection?

• • A Head Start on College. Imagine starting college with credits already in your pocket, reducing the time and cost of your future education.
  • Academic Exploration. Not sure about your college major? No problem! College Connection lets you explore a variety of subjects and interests, helping you make informed choices about your academic and career path.
  • College Experience. Get a taste of college life, from navigating campus to experiencing college-level coursework. You'll be well-prepared for your official freshman year – or to enter the workforce with new knowledge and skills.
  • Financial Support. After graduating from high school and completing College Connection, you’ll be eligible for the Butte College Promise Scholarship, providing financial assistance to continue your education.

Who can participate? 

To join us, you need to be a junior enrolled at Oroville, Las Plumas, Chico, Pleasant Valley High School, or Oak Bridge Academy. If you are maintaining a high school GPA of 2.0 or higher, complete a College Connection application to get started!

How do I Apply? 

Ready to join the College Connection Program? Applying is easy! Here's how:

1. Complete the Application: Fill out College Connection application based on your high school.
2. Submit Your Application: Hit that submit button on your application by the deadline.
3. Connect with Us: Reach out with any questions or concerns to our College Connection teacher and advisors who are here to assist you.
